Royale Kitchens has been part of Browns Bay’s manufacturing landscape for more than 30 years, designing, building and installing custom kitchens and cabinetry of all sorts and sizes.
Matthew and Kirsten Coles bought the business 11 years ago and have enhanced a long-standing reputation for excellent service and quality by employing skilled tradespeople, cutting-edge technology and robust and beautiful materials.
The Coles know that a great kitchen can transform the way a home looks, feels and functions. They take pride in knowing that clients not only love their new kitchen, but that they’ve also enjoyed the process of creating it, from consultation to installation.
The background
With 100% customer satisfaction, it’s not surprising that most of their business was coming from client recommendations. Wanting to extend their reach and realising that Royale Kitchens wasn’t easy to find online, Kirsten made an effort with Facebook and Instagram but was hampered by a lack of knowledge about digital marketing.
The problem
“We’d been seeing a business mentor for a few months and one of the things that cropped up was that lack of presence online, and he recommended Ark Advance,” Kirsten says.
“We hadn’t really thought about advertising much, but we went to Ark Advance because we wanted to be in the first couple of pages when people searched online.”
Chris quickly identified one of the problems – not only had Royale Kitchens’ website never been set up for search engine optimisation, it was actually blocking Google from accessing many of the pages.
“It was a bit of a shock,” Kirsten says. “The person who set up the website hadn’t done any of that work, and never offered it.”
Working with Ark Advance
As Kirsten started working with another website designer, Chris set up digital advertising to give potential clients an alternative channel to reach the business. The new website went live in November 2020, with the new provider working closely with Ark Advance.
Kirsten couldn’t be happier with the service she gets from Ark Advance. She receives monthly reports detailing the latest advertising and how effective it’s been. Constant fine-tuning – including adding platforms such as Pinterest – ensures ads are placed where they don’t just produce more leads, they produce the kind of leads that convert to sales.
The solution
“They’ve worked hard in targeting the right people – we used to get a lot whose budget was really in the lower end and they somehow managed to tweak the advertising to reach those in the mid to high price range.”
Setting up the new website kept Kirsten busy organising photography and approving copy and keywords, but now she says her input into the company’s online marketing is minimal, and far outweighed by the rewards.
The results (so far)
“The phone doesn’t stop ringing now, and while some of that has to be attributed to Covid and people not going overseas, it generally seems a lot easier for our company to be found.
“We’re not at the top of the first page yet for all our terms but at least we’re there, and we’re definitely seeing growth.”
Having attended a workshop offered by Ark Advance, Kirsten says she now has a better understanding of digital marketing terminology and techniques, but still feels ‘very dumb’ sometimes. She finds it reassuring to know the company’s online marketing is being monitored by someone who knows what they’re doing.
“Ark Advance are very easy to work with, always very professional and nothing’s too hard for them. I’m never made to feel like a pain and I never have to chase them.”
